Qigong/Tai Qi for Beginners with Rick

$10.00

“Simple but profound.” These 3 words sum up what you can expect from the no impact exercise you’ll enjoy in Qigong/Tai Qi (pronounced ‘chee’) sessions for beginners with instructor Rick.

Meeting 4 times a week for 1 hour each, no experience or preparation is needed. All you need is an intent to become more in sync with your body, mind, and spirit and the universe around you. Rick guides the class through a mindful series of simple movements, with an emphasis on the role of breathing and a singular focus of being in the present.

This is not one of the body building Tai Qi courses you see on social media. Rather, it is an easy and effective way to bring out your best though a series of ever-changing and connected, yet simple exercises. All movements are designed to move and properly channel your Qi, the life forces within you, that contribute to your physical, intellectual and spiritual well-being. Participants all have their own sense of what this means to them and furthermore are encouraged to make each movement their own according to their bodies. There are no absolutes about what is right and wrong; only what works for you.

After a nominal $10 registration fee, Rick’s programs are offered at no cost; donations are gratefully accepted.

Note from Tom. I have now taken Rick’s classes for about two months, going 2-3 times a week. I can say without reservation that my physical, mental and spiritual well-being has benefitted greatly. In fact, the benefits are not unlike those I used to get the 2 years I had acupuncture treatments, a far more costly process. I’ve also enjoyed the privacy of doing these exercises online rather than in a class at a senior centre or local continuing education programs—it makes it a truly judgement-free environment. As a guideline, I donate $5/class, about the same as I would at my local senior centre, although your donation, if any, is solely up to you.

Classes take place over Zoom 4 times a week. Times noted are EST (Boston).

• Mondays at 10AM

• Tuesdays at 3PM

• Thursdays at 3PM

• Saturdays at 10AM

Attend as many or as few classes as you want. Links to all 4 sessions will be emailed to you as soon as your non-refundable $10 registration fee is received. Space is limited; we will stop registrations once the class reaches its Zoom participant maximum.

Do yourself some real good. I know I always feel better after each class than when I went in. I truly believe you will too. T-
